I am pleased to announce the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) event EXPANDING HORIZONS: A Workshop About Investing Overseas for Minority and Women-Owned Businesses, to be held in Boston, Massachusetts on September 24 and in St. Louis, Missouri on October 22, 2009.
These workshops will provide valuable information to minority and women-owned companies about the resources available through OPIC and other U.S. government agencies to help them expand their businesses internationally. OPIC representatives will make presentations on political risk insurance coverage; financing for small and medium-sized enterprises; special programs for renewable energy and clean technology projects; and how to navigate the OPIC application process. The event will also feature presentations from the U.S. Small Business Administration (www.sba.gov); the U.S. Department of Commerce (www.export.gov); and the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (www.exim.gov).
These workshops are a continuation of the successful EXPANDING HORIZIONS series held in 2006-2007 in Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; Newark, NJ; Houston, TX; and San Francisco, CA.
To secure your participation, we encourage you to register as soon as possible on-line at www.trademeetings.com. For additional information about the workshops, please contact Ms. Judyth Gilbert, OPIC’s Outreach Coordinator for Minority and Women-Owned Businesses, at 202-336-8641 or jgilbert@opic.gov.
I look forward seeing you at the workshop.
Sincerely,
